Domino – DomStufen Festival for Children

Since 2009, Theater Erfurt has also been presenting a children's drama on the stage of the DomStufen Festival. It all started with The Bremen Town Musicians. Children and adults were enthusiastic about the play in the open air, not to mention the spectacular backdrop of the Cathedral of St Mary and the Church of St Severus.

This was followed in 2010 by Pippi Longstocking, and tickets for all the performances of this production were once again completely sold out. Because of the huge success of the two musicals, Theater Erfurt decided that they should be revived and so The Bremen Town Musicians were on the Domino programme in 2011 and Pippi Longstocking featured again in 2012. In 2013, Till Eulenspiegel was the offering for young Festival guests, and in 2014 the children's opera Die Omama im Apfelbaum was performed, which tells of the difficult steps involved in moving towards taking responsibility. In 2015, Theater Erfurt once again presented a musical for children: The Jungle Book based on Rudyard Kipling with music by Francesco Bottigliero. In 2016, An der Arche um Acht by Ulrich Hub, a play that had been awarded the German Children's Theatre Prize, was on the Domino programme.

In 2017, our child and adult visitors to Domino will once again be able to enjoy The Jungle Book.
